This blog is my window out into the world and while I'm looking out you may just catch a glimpse inside mine. Let me know if you like what you see... and if you don't, feel free to disagree and let me know what's really on your mind.
Protect Your Back One of the worst possible things you could do to your body is to sit in one spot for an extended period of time. Unfortunately most people's job's require them to sit at either a desk or behind the wheel for multiple hours at a time. Humans were NOT meant to be stationary and our bodies will occasionally remind us of this fact. Most people cannot even sleep for long periods because their bodies begin to rebel by sending signals of pain and discomfort to the brain. So why do we continue to ignore our bodies and force them to endure unnatural positions? Chiropractor are making a fortune these days and doctors continue the over-prescription of pain medications but who's at fault here? The only answer to both of these questions involves looking inward...there can be no fingers pointed outward because the responsibility is our own. It is up to each of us to listen to our own bodies and to take better care of them. There are some very simple solutions for anyone suffering from most back and neck pain. First, if you must remain seated anywhere make sure that you get up and take a brisk walk AT LEAST once an hour. Better yet, talk to your boss or office manager about acquiring a height adjustable desk that allows you to stand while you're working. Spending most of your time on your feet is not only better for your spine and neck but you'll also burn more calories. Additionally, a Stability Ball is a rather inexpensive tool which serves as an excellent substitute to a conventional chair. Sitting on one of these large inflatable balls forces you to sit up straight and works all of the stabilizing muscles along the spinal column. Utilizing one or more of these suggestions should help to reduce some of the pain and discomfort you've been experiencing but if any pain persists you should seek further medical attention a.s.a.p.

It doesn't matter what you're trying to do in your life...No matter how big or small it's all about setting goals for yourself. It's great to have "ambitions" but without an accurate description of your "end game" it's difficult to stay on course. Be specific with the goals that you set and figure out precisely what you need to attain them. For example, if I say that I want to complete a marathon I need to know exactly how far I'll need to train my body to run. A complete marathon is 26.2 miles. In order to prepare for running such a great distance I need to first evaluate my present level of physical fitness. Can I run 5 miles without stopping? And if so, how long did it take me and how did I feel afterward? Now I have a "starting point" for myself AND a Big Goal. The next step is for me to begin setting smaller, short-term goals that allow me to steadily progress toward my Big Goal. In this case we'll say that I'm going to try adding 1 more mile each week to my "long run" for the week and gradually make my way up to around 20 miles. Once you've run 20 miles in a single session there's no doubt that you're "physically" able to complete a marathon. The only remaining question at that point is if you're "mentally" prepared because it is in fact grueling. By accomplishing all those smaller goals/shorter runs you should have built up the necessary confidence and faith in yourself to attain your BIG GOAL.NOTHING in this life is free and we must "earn" all the things we so desire. Whatever goals you set for yourself can and will be attained as long as you're dedicated. Whether you want to finish a marathon, land your dream job, or get in to a certain school/college it doesn't matter what the Big Goal is...only that you keep setting those smaller goals and working your way up the ladder. And once you've attained that Big Goal don't just stop setting goals but continue pushing yourself to dream bigger and work harder to achieve all the things you want from this life. We're here little more than the blink of an eye and you owe it to yourself to make the most of that time. Your life should be full of Health, Love, and Happiness...Always.....A (Help Free Adam)

AuthorI'm definitely NOT just your average guy that's doin' time...According to the Federal Bureau Of Prisons I still owe them a couple more centuries before they'll let me outta here. Despite my current predicament I've decided to fully embrace the immortal words of my man, the O.G. of Cool, Mr. James Dean who said to "Dream as if you'll live forever and live as if you'll die today". I may be stuck physically here in prison but I sure as hell ain't dead yet...in fact I figure that I'm still about 60 to 70 years away from my final day but that won't make me change the way I'm living today. This blog is my window out into the world and while I'm looking out you may just catch a glimpse inside mine.
